Over the past ten years, ECMO has become the first line circulatory support for patients with refractory cardiogenic shock in many centers worldwide.
Very encouraging results have also been demonstrated for patients who received veno-venous ECMO
because of severe respiratory failure. The “Institut de Cardiologie” in La Pitié-SalpêtrièreHospital in Paris has been deeply involved in developing a powerful ECMO program for both respiratory and circulatory failure. To foster knowledge and mastering of ECMO and other techniques for short-term circulatory and respiratory support, our Institute will organize the third International Course on ECMO in Paris.
This year meeting – Thursday June 28th and Friday June 29th 2012– will take place in downtown Paris at the UICP, very close to the Eiffel Tower.
The meeting will offer opinion leaders’ conferences and will also give full time for discussions and debates, with panel roundtables prepared by chairmen of expertise. Medical and paramedical workers coming from different countries and specialties (ICU, Anesthesiology, Surgery, Emergency, Cardiology, Pneumology...) will be welcome to mix and exchange their experiences and expertise.
We look forward to seeing you in Paris next June.
